| Choreographer | Jean-Philippe Dury was born in Paris in 1978, where he began his ballet studies at the age of six. At the age of eleven he joined the PARIS OPERA School.In 1998 he won first prize for artistic and contemporary dance at the Saint Petersburg Awards. In 2001, he was awarded first prize at the Firenze &Danza dance awards in Florence, as well as at the Grand Prix de la República de Italia.During the 2003-04 season PARIS OPERA BALLET granted him a sabbatical year during which he danced for LES BALLETS DE MONTE CARLO.Nominated to the TAGLIONI Awards 2014 – Best Choreographer Revelation! | Company | ELEPHANT IN THE BLACK BOX was born in 2012 just after Jean-Philippe Duryhave left the National Company of Madrid.It brings together dancers from most part of the National Company of Madrid who followed Jean-Philippe DURY, but it is mostly a family, where each member complements and supports the others and sharing the same passion.EBBCompany is actually the partition of an ambitious work of its time. | Work | The 4 Seasons of Victoria " Muted by recent events, Victoria felt that there was nothing left of it. His past now seemed the dream of another person, a memory of another life ... a life that no longer remembered ... ". (From "Madness" of Evan Lovewood). Inspired by the text of Lovewood, Dury poetically recounts the various stages of the life of Victoria. The presence of the father, brother and lover in the choreography define the stages of its history. From a window we look veiled images of his life, while a mirrored wall gives us a reflection of the past. A trip to remember and ove lost and regained |
